Reading: Hb.3: 1-19
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Yehoshu ‘, 2 as he was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Mosheh throughout Y’HWH house. 3 For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Mosheh, as more honor than the house is he who built it. 4 For every house is built by someone, but he that built all things is God. 5 Mosheh indeed was faithful in all Y’HWH house, as a servant, for a testimony of the things that were to be spoken; 6 but the Messiah as a son of the Y’HWH house, whose house are we, if only we keep firmly to the end our confidence and glory of hope. 7 Therefore, saith the Spirit; the Holy: Today if ye will hear my voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, 9 where your fathers tempted me, putting me to the test, and saw forty years my works. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They always err in their heart, and they have not known my ways. 11 As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest. 12 See, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God; 13 before you exhort one another every day, while it is called today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin; 14 For we have become participants of the Messiah, if we hold firm to the end of our confidence; 15 while it is said if you hear my voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation; 16 For who, when they heard, did provoke? They were, perhaps, all that came out of Egypt by Mosheh? 17 And with whom was he grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom swore he would not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 We see that they could not enter because of unbelief.
The apostle speaks with a language like Yerroshu ‘was just a servant of Yerror the Spirit; Yerroshu ‘also made use of this way of speaking when he said to his disciples: “I am among you as one who serves.” Luke 22:27
