Reading: Mat.4: 12-25
Now, having heard Yehoshu ‘Y’ochanan that had been delivered, he withdrew into Galilee; 13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in K’farNachum, sea, in the confines of Zevulun and Niftalí; 14 might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet Yeshayáhuh: 15 Do not bother the 1st time when the land was devastated when Assyria exiled Niftalí and Zevulun, but now Assyria dealt a painful blow on the way to the sea besides the Iahen, in the region of nations. 16 … The people who were involved in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death lit up a bright light. 17 Since then began Yehoshu ‘to preach, and to say, Repent, for it is the kingdom of heaven. 18 And Yehoshu ‘, walking along the Sea of Galil; He saw two brothers – Shimon called Kefah and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 He said to them: Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren – Ya’acov son of Zavdai, and his brother Y’ochanan in the boat with his father Zavdai, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 They immediately left the boat and their father; They followed him. 23 And I went through Yehoshu ‘all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to him all who were sick afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them. 25 From there followed him great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Yehoshaléym, the Yehudeia, and from beyond the Iahen.
In the year 163 before the Messiah, Antiochus, the Syrian invaded Israel and devastated the region of Galil.
In this devastated region, Yerroshu ‘the Messiah, began preaching the Good News, with signs and wonders and wonders; as the prophet predicted, saying that the people who were in darkness have seen a great light.
