Reading: Y’ochanan 12: 12-35.
The next day the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Yehoshu ‘came to Yehoshaléym, 13 took palm branches and went out to meet him, and cried, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord Y’HWH! Blessed is the King of Israel 14 And he found Yehoshu ‘a young donkey and sat upon it, as is written in the Torah: 15 Rejoice with all your being, O daughter of Zion! Cry out with joy, O daughter of Yehoshaléym! Behold, for you to forward your fair Triumphant King for his victories, but at the same time behaving with humility, riding a donkey’s son. 16 His disciples, however, at first did not understand this; but when Yehoshu ‘was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written in the Torah to him, and that they had done it. 17 gave him therefore witness the crowd that was with him when he called the El’asar the grave and raised him from the dead, 18 and that was why the crowd met him, because they heard that he had done this sign . 19 So that the Pharisees said among themselves: Do you see that nothing? Behold, the world is gone after him. 20 Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks. 21 And they went to Philip, who was from Beit-Zaidah of Galil, and besought him saying, Lord; we would see Ieoxô ‘. 22 Philip went and told Andrew, and then Philip and Andrew were saying it to Yehoshu ‘. 23 He said Yehoshu ‘: It’s time to be glorified the Son of man. 24 Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life; shall lose it; and who in this world hate your life, keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, follow me; and where I am there shall also my servant; If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. 27 Now my body is disturbed; and what shall I say? Father; save me from this hour? I; for this I have come at this time! 28 Father; glorify your name! Then came this voice from heaven: I have both glorified, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered; others said, An angel spake to him. 30 And Yehoshu ‘: This voice came not for my sake, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And when I am lifted up from the earth; all; I draw me. 33 This it said, signifying how he should die. 34 He said to him the crowd: We have heard from the Torah that the Messiah remains forever; and how sayest thou that the Son of man be lifted up? Who is this Son of man? 35 And I said to them Yehoshu ‘, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtakes you; he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
Born in Bet ‘L’ehem of Efrat in Yerrudá, son of Myriam princess, and adopted by Prince Yosef also the house and the family of King David, Yerroshu’ during his pilgrimage, numerous times, went in and go out in the city of Yerroshaléym ; this time mounted on a beast of burden, as king of Israel. When asked at his trial, Pilate asked Yehoshu ‘if he confirmed to be king; to this, Yerroshu ‘replied I was born for this and came into the world. (Y’oc.18: 37).
