VAIN AND PRESUMPTION DO NOT REFLECT THE LIGHT OF THE MESSIAH

Portion 32
Agos.017
Topic: VAIN AND PRESUMPTION DO NOT REFLECT THE LIGHT OF THE MESSIAH
Source: Yehoshua’s Parchment ‘Messiah’
Reading: III Y’oc. 1-15
The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. 2 Beloved, I desire that it may go well with you in all things, and that you may be in health, just as well as your spirit. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came and testified of your truth, as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth. 5 Beloved, you do everything that you do to your brothers, especially to the strangers, 6 who before the congregation testify of your love, to whom, if you go in your journey in a way worthy of the eternal God, you will do well ; 7 For for the name’s sake they went forth, and did not accept the Gentiles. 8 Therefore we ought to receive such, that we may be laborers of the truth. 9 I have written to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who loves to have primacy among them, does not receive us. 10 Wherefore, if I go there, I will bring to remembrance the works which he doeth, uttering against us malicious words; And not content with this, he not only fails to receive the brethren, but those who want to receive him forbade him to do so and still exclude them from the congregation. 11 Beloved; Do not imitate evil, but good. He that doeth good is of the eternal God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen the everlasting God. 12 But from Demetrius all, and even the truth itself, bear witness; And we also bear witness; And you know that our testimony is true. 13 I had many things to write to you, but I do not want to do it with ink and sorrow. 14 But I hope to see you briefly, and we will speak face to face. 15 Peace be to you. Friends greet you. Greets the friends nominally.
COMMENT
The pressing desire to be the center of attention in fact is not good.
Yehoshua, ‘said: “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart.”
Sh’lomom, says presumption or pride, precedes the fall.
Here is the commandment of Yehoshu: ‘Let your light shine before people, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
