After that there was a feast of Yehudim; and Yehoshu ‘went up to Yehoshaleym. 2 Now at Yehoshalohem, near the sheep gate, there is a tank, called in Hebrew, Beit’Esda, which has five porches.3 In these lay a great multitude of sick, blind, lame, and dry, waiting for the water to move. 4 For an angel came at a certain time to the pool, and stirred the water: and the first that went down after the water flowed, was healed of any sickness which he had. 5 And there stood a man there, who had been sick thirty and eight years. 6 Yehoshu ‘, seeing him lying down and knowing that he had been so long, asked him,’ Do you want to stay healthy? ‘ 7 And the sick man said to him, Lord, I have no one who, when the water is stirred, put me in the pool; so while I go, another goes down before me. 8 Yehoshu saith unto him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 Immediately the man became whole; and having taken up his bed, he began to walk. That day was a Shabbat. 10 And the Yehudim said to him that was healed: It is a sabbath day, and it is not lawful for you to carry the bed. 11 But he answered and said unto him, He that healed me, he himself said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12 And they asked him, saying, Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up thy bed and walk? 13 But he that was healed did not know who he was; because Yehoshu ‘had withdrawn, because there were many people in that place. 14 Then Yehoshu found him in the temple, and said to him, “Look, you are healed; do not sin no more, lest a worse thing happen to you. “15 The man then withdrew and told Yehudim that it was Yehoshu who would heal him. 16 Yehudim persecuted Yehoshu, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
The tank at Bet’Esda was a kind of hospital; a house of mercy, where many were delivered from their sick deceiving them, saying that an angel came down from year to year to stir up those waters; though there was no manifestation of the Almighty until the appearance of the prophet Y’ochanan son of the priest Zekhariah.

The illusionists of Christianity to facilitate the exercise of their tricks make vehement announcements of campaigns like of financial prosperity, cures, resolutions of problems etc.

Fools are those who believe in this, and are enabled to do so; In times past when nothing of the fiance happened, the pulpit con artists insist on illusionism, claiming the victim’s lack of faith as reason.
In the text, we find that the people of Israel were deceived by their rulers; they used the belief of the people to get rid of the patients who were considered unsolvable for the medicine of the day by putting them in that tank.
