Leit. Rom.6: 1-5 and Acts.19: 1-5.
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 Not at all. We who have died to sin, how shall we live in him? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Yehoshua the Messiah were baptized into his death? 4 So we were buried with him by baptism into death, that as the Messiah was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so let us walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united to him in the likeness of his death, surely we shall be in the likeness of his resurrection.
And it came to pass that while Apollos was at Corinth, Sha’ul, having gone through the high places, came to Ephesus, and finding there certain disciples, 2 saith unto them, Ye have believed in Jeze’oh the Messiah? They said to him, “No, not even if we hear that there is Ieoxô.” 3 And he said unto them, Whom were ye baptized with? And they said: No baptism of Y’ochanan. But Sha’ul replied: Y’ochanan, in administering the baptism of repentance, told the people to believe in him who was to come after him, that is, in Yehoshu. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Yehoshu.
As we read in Shemot 24: 8, Mosheh consecrated (Hb.melium / mekudash) the people and all things sprinkling.
Coming the prophet Y’ochanan, the last of the prophets of the Law, consecrated the people washing (Hb. Borith); so it was with Yehoshu ‘, his apostles and the first disciples in the formation of the Congregation of the Messiah.
Under divine inspiration, on his first missionary journey, Sha’ul, having met some brothers discipled by Apollo, announced and made the first immersions in the Congregation of Yehoshu ‘; which he later called baptism for the dead. Mt.13: 55, Lk.8: 21, 22.
